Position Summary
As a Manager of Tax Services - Corporate / Business Services, you will lead and manage multiple tax engagements, providing high-quality tax compliance, planning, and advisory services to a diverse client base. This role requires a strong technical background in corporate and pass-through entity taxation, the ability to manage client relationships, and demonstrated leadership in overseeing engagement teams.
The Manager will serve as a key advisor to clients, proactively identifying tax planning opportunities, managing risk, and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of services. This position offers significant opportunities for professional growth, leadership development, and advancement within the firm.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee multiple tax engagements simultaneously, ensuring quality, timeliness, and compliance with firm standards
  • Lead and execute tax planning initiatives for corporate, partnership, S corporation, and individual clients
  • Review complex federal, state, and local income tax returns for business entities and high-net-worth individuals across various industries
  • Identify tax risks, exposures, and opportunities; provide practical recommendations to mitigate risk and optimize tax outcomes
  • Manage the tax compliance process, including coordination of deadlines, staffing, and workflow
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop staff and senior associates through coaching, performance feedback, and technical guidance
  • Manage and coordinate federal and state tax audits, responding to inquiries and resolving issues efficiently
  • Review tax provisions, tax-related general ledger balances, and supporting documentation as applicable
  • Conduct tax research and prepare written memoranda to support technical positions and client recommendations
  • Recommend and implement process improvements and best practices to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and client service
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, demonstrating a deep understanding of client operations, goals, and industry challenges
  • Collaborate with partners and senior leadership on client strategy, engagement planning, and business development efforts

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
  • CPA license required
  • Master's degree in Taxation or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant tax experience, including at least 2+ years focused on business entity taxation, gained in public accounting and/or a corporate environment
  • Strong experience in tax compliance and consulting for C corporations, partnerships, and S corporations
  • Solid understanding of federal and state tax regulations and their application to business entities
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex tax matters clearly to clients and internal teams
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Client-focused, results-driven mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and experience managing and developing teams
