    Job description

    Austin Industries is one of the nation's largest, most diversified U.S.-based construction companies.     Our Austin Equipment Yard has an outstanding opportunity for a Concrete Pump Mechanic at our large commercial project located in the North Phoenix, Arizona area. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining concrete pump trucks and related equipment to ensure safety standards are met for the project job site. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical knowledge, experience with hydraulic systems, and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
    Responsibilities:
    • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on concrete pump trucks, including engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and pumping components
    • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues accurately and in a timely manner
    • Inspect equipment to identify potential problems and ensure compliance with safety standards
    • Repair or replace worn or defective parts such as hoses, cylinders, valves, and pumps
    • Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life
    • Maintain detailed service records and repair documentation
    • Work closely with operators and management to prioritize repairs and reduce downtime
    • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company policies and safety regulations
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:
    • Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic, preferably with concrete pump trucks or similar equipment
    • Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance skills
    • Maintenance & Repair and Troubleshooting abilities
    • Mechanical aptitude with required knowledge of:

      • Diesel engines
      • Electrical systems
      • Hydraulic systems

    • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
    • Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
    • Valid CDL preferred
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
    • Must have a strong commitment to jobsite safety
    • Diligent in demonstrating safe work practices

    Requirements:
    • High school diploma, GED, or vocational training/certification
    • Valid driver's license
    • Must be able to work hours adjusted to meet the equipment yard and project needs - days, nights and weekends
    • Requires working outdoors at times in the rain or snow and during cold, warm, and hot temperatures
