Job description

We are seeking Board Certified Adult Peer Support Specialists (PSS) to support clients ages 18 and older in their recovery journey. As an Adult PSS, you will share your lived experience managing mental health challenges in adulthood and empower others to reach their goals.

Locations: Rockland, Orange, Westchester, Brooklyn, and Bronx.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide peer-to-peer support grounded in mutual respect and understanding.

  • Share strategies and tools from your own recovery to inspire hope.

  • Support adults in building independence, wellness, and community connections.

  • Collaborate with care teams to align services with client goals.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of services provided.

  • Offer crisis support when necessary.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Must be at least 18 years old.

  • In recovery from a mental health condition as an adult.

  • Previous experience supporting others through recovery (personal or professional) is strongly preferred.

  • Board Certified candidates are strongly preferred — certification is a real plus and highly valued!

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
