Job description

Irving Tissue is seeking a dedicated and adaptable Operations Team Leader to join our team in Saint John, NB. This role offers a unique blend of frontline leadership, hands-on operations, and strategic involvement.

  • A Bachelor's degree or a completed 2-year (minimum) post-secondary program in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in pulp & paper or other industrial environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
  • A desire to lead and develop people.
  • Commitment to growing your leadership and technical capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Lead a crew of 12 operators on two tissue machines.
  • Promote and enforce safety, housekeeping, production, and quality standards.
  • Facilitate daily troubleshooting and problem-solving with operating teams.
  • Manage crew performance and support employee development.
  • Work a rotating schedule that includes both day and night shifts.
  • Participate in strategic initiatives
