    Job description

    Applied Research Solutions is seeking a SCIF Facilities Security Manager to support an Air Force mission at Hanscom AFB, MA. This role will lead security responsibilities throughout the SCIF construction phase, ensuring facility requirements, security standards, and applicable DoD/IC regulations are met from initial build through accreditation. Following construction and certification, the manager will oversee ongoing SCIF security operations, including access control, inspections, security procedures, and compliance. This is a key role for an experienced security professional who can effectively coordinate with government stakeholders, contractors, and security personnel to maintain a secure, compliant facility.

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Provide expert security support for SCIF/SAPF acquisition, construction, accreditation, and sustainment.
    • Provide daily oversight of special access facility security administration and management through the Base SSO.
    • Support SCIF/SAPF construction and accreditation, including construction plans, fixed facility checklists, accreditation packages, and required approvals.
    • Develop, maintain, and review security documentation, including Program Protection Plans, Security Risk Analyses, OPSEC Plans, Security CONOPS, and DD Form 254s.
    • Coordinate with the Intelligence Community, USAF organizations, and external agencies on facility security and program protection requirements.
    • Manage personnel security activities, including access verification, personnel security records, and applicable security databases.
    • Establish and manage COMSEC accounts and ensure compliance with special communications requirements.
    • Develop and conduct SAP/SCI security education, training, briefings, and awareness programs.
    • Prepare for and support security inspections, surveys, audits, and accreditation activities; track and implement corrective actions.
    • Serve as an alternate Top Secret Control Officer (TSCO) and perform classified material control and entry/exit security procedures.
    • Maintain accountability and control of classified information through inventories, databases, audits, and compliance reviews.
    • Facilitate Security Working Groups (SSWGs), Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and security coordination meetings.
    • Integrate security requirements into SOWs, RFPs, CDRLs, contracts, and applicable USAF Technical Orders.
    • Ensure security requirements remain aligned with applicable DoD, Intelligence Community, USAF, SAP, SCI, and facility security guidance.
    • Identify security risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and support continuous improvement of facility security programs.
    • Prepare security reports, briefings, and status updates for government leadership.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements:

    • Active TS/SCI clearance required
    • Must be a US Citizen 
    • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years of related experience working within a DoD security function required
    • Must have knowledge and experience in the development of SCIF/SAPF certifications, System Security Management Plans, Program Protection Plans (PPPs), Security Risk Analyses, Operations Security (OPSEC) Plans, Computer Certification and Accreditation, Security Vulnerability and Countermeasures Analyses 

    All positions at Applied Research Solutions are subject to background investigations. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation including criminal history and identity check.

    The expected annual salary range: $118k - $130k. Salary is dependent upon the role and associated responsibilities, candidate's experience, and qualifications to include education/training, and key skills.
