Job Summary

This person will be required to work in a lockdown facility due to the high value of the inventory.  

This is a Guaranteed Extra Board position and its weekly hours are guaranteed at 40 per week but the work shifts are subject to change daily depending on staffing requirements. This will require a person to be able and willing to work any day and or any shift as needed.

Essential Functions
  • Must be capable of multi-tasking and meeting assigned deadlines.
  • Must have the ability to learn and understand the functioning of the SAP inventory system and inventory control techniques.
  • Must have a valid driver's license to pick up and deliver parts and supplies.
  • Must be able to operate material handling equipment.
  • Must complete DOT Hazmat training/certification on schedule as determined by supervisor.
  • Must complete DOT forklift training/certification on schedule as determined by supervisor.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must comply with Amtrak's Standards of Excellence, safety rules and all other policies and procedure.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED,
  • Valid unrestricted driver's license.
  • Warehouse forklift, electric pallet jacks, shipping and receiving tools including crimpers,
  • General warehouse materials receiving, stocking and packaging procedure
Preferred Qualifications
  • Amtrak Material Control Department experience.  
  • Experience with SAP Warehouse Management Software application,
  • Experience in a lock down material warehouse facility
Communications and Interpersonal Skills

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

The hourly range is $28.59 - $38.12 (with opportunity for increases, as per the applicable collective bargaining agreement, after beginning employment).
