Job Summary

Passengers will be assisted in the movement of their personal luggage or parcels within this station or station facilities.

Essential Functions
  • Provide wheelchair service for disabled and/or handicapped passengers
  • Provide arm assistance to blind individuals to and from the trains
  • Conversant with the procedure governing the issuance of Red Cap Check NRPC Form 313
Minimum Qualifications
  • Employee must conform to Amtrak's Standards of Excellence and prescribed code of dress
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be fully capable of operating commercial vehicles and mechanized equipment
  • Must have a valid Driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two (2) years of college or business equivalent
  • Two (2) years' experience in a service-oriented position
Communications and Interpersonal Skills
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

The hourly range is $19.55 - $26.06 (with opportunity for increases, as per the applicable collective bargaining agreement, after beginning employment). In accordance with federal law governing security checks of covered individuals for providers of public transportation (Title 6 U.S.C. 1143), Amtrak is required to screen applicants for any permanent or interim disqualifying criminal offenses.
