The Maine Mariners are a proud member of the ECHL, the premier AA professional hockey league in North America and a key development pipeline to the National Hockey League. The Mariners have built strong momentum in recent seasons, establishing a winning culture throughout the organization and advancing to the second round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs, while also driving significant growth in attendance, ticket sales, corporate partnerships, and overall revenue. This combination of on-ice success and business performance positions the club for continued growth and long-term success.
Position Summary:
Help us bring the Maine Mariners Beacon to life. We are looking for someone who can embody the spirit of the Maine Mariners in Beacon, interacting with our fans during our home games and community events. You will play a vital role in creating unforgettable experiences for fans by delivering engaging, high-energy entertainment during our home games and throughout our community events.
What You Will Do:
  • Engage with fans throughout the arena, including on the concourse, in seating areas, and in suites, ensuring every
    interaction is memorable and positive.
  • Pose for photos, lead cheers, and hype up audiences of all ages.
  • Play a key role in our "Final Five" minute countdown to puck drop on game days to build energy during a crucial moment during our pre-game run of show.
  • Work with handlers or event staff to navigate crowds and manage performance schedules safely.
  • Assist with all on-ice and intermission entertainment.
  • Represent the Maine Mariners in a professional and enthusiastic manner.

Skills You Will Need:
  • Ability to wear a heavy, full-body costume and perform for extended periods.
  • Excellent expression, timing, and enthusiasm conveyed entirely through movement.
  • Commitment to delivering an exceptional fan experience at every game.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the hockey calendar.

Qualifications:
  • One year of experience as a sports mascot, or strong willingness to complete mascot training
  • Must be physically able to perform
