THE ROLE:

Join AMD's Datacenter Infrastructure team in Rockdale, Texas, and play a key role in supporting the network technologies that power next-generation AI, HPC, and large-scale compute platforms. This is an opportunity to work hands-on with cutting-edge infrastructure in a growing datacenter environment, helping to deploy, operate, troubleshoot, and scale the networks that enable AMD's most advanced engineering initiatives.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with datacenter operations, hardware engineers, software teams, infrastructure specialists, and network engineers to ensure critical systems remain reliable, performant, and ready to support evolving business needs. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to new deployments, infrastructure expansion projects, and ongoing operational improvements while gaining exposure to some of AMD's newest technologies and large-scale computing platforms.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a highly technical environment, solving complex infrastructure challenges, and making a visible impact on mission-critical systems.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate is a hands-on infrastructure professional who enjoys solving technical challenges and working in dynamic datacenter environments. They are self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining a strong focus on operational excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Deploy, configure, administer, and maintain datacenter network infrastructure supporting large-scale computing environments.
  • Support network connectivity for servers, racks, clusters, and validation environments.
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and manage network switches, fiber optic infrastructure, and RJ45 connectivity.
  • Support site network setup, expansion activities, upgrades, and infrastructure deployment projects.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, operating system, and networking issues impacting datacenter operations.
  • Perform structured triage and root cause analysis to resolve complex infrastructure issues.
  • Support automation, scripting, and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Document network configurations, deployment activities, troubleshooting efforts, and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, scalable, and high-performing infrastructure solutions.
  • Travel to other AMD datacenter locations as needed to support deployment and operational activities.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience deploying, administering, and supporting datacenter network environments
  • Experience configuring and managing network switches and connectivity infrastructure
  • Knowledge of network architecture, routing, switching, and network troubleshooting principles
  • Experience with fiber optic and RJ45 network infrastructure
  • Experience supporting scale-up and scale-out computing environments
  • Linux operating system administration experience
  • Experience with Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages
  • Experience supporting server hardware and infrastructure environments
  • Familiarity with rack-level deployments, hardware installation, and datacenter operations
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and root cause analysis capabilities
  • Experience documenting configurations, operational procedures, and technical findings
  • Knowledge of large-scale HPC, AI, or high-performance computing environments is a plus
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree preferred in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
