To thrive as a Director of Enterprise Sales, you need deep expertise in B2B sales strategy, large account management, and proven leadership experience, usually supported by a bachelor's degree or higher in business or a related field. Familiarity with CRM platforms like Salesforce, advanced analytics tools, and sales enablement software is typically required, along with certifications such as Certified Sales Leadership Professional (CSLP) being advantageous. Outstanding communication, negotiation, and team-building skills set top performers apart in this role. These skills and qualities are critical for driving revenue growth, building strong client relationships, and leading high-performing sales teams in competitive markets.

What are the primary challenges a Director of Enterprise Sales faces when managing large, complex accounts?

One of the main challenges for a Director of Enterprise Sales is effectively navigating complex organizational structures within client companies, which often involves managing multiple stakeholders and aligning solutions to diverse business needs. Additionally, coordinating cross-functional teams internally—from sales engineers to customer success—requires strong leadership and communication skills. Maintaining long sales cycles, forecasting revenue accurately, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the process are also critical challenges. Successful Directors leverage relationship-building, strategic planning, and data-driven decision-making to overcome these obstacles and achieve growth targets.

Their role typically involves collaborating with other departments, analyzing market trends, and ensuring the organization's products or services meet the needs of large-scale customers. • Enterprise Pedigree: A documented track record of leading a team in developing and capturing numerous Global Fortune 2000 new logos on a consistent basis within the Eastern US.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: The ability to form deep partnerships with other functional leaders to ensure synergistic collaboration across the WalkMe and SAP organizations.
  • Business Acumen: The ability to lead by example, driving specific use-case and value-based customer discussions that connect DAP to overarching business outcomes.
  • Complex Negotiations: Expert-level skill in navigating and closing difficult, large-scale, multi-year contracts.
  • Strategic Planning: Experience developing sophisticated sales, business, and persona-based market plans for C-suite audiences.
  • Performance Management: A history of ensuring every member of your team produces net-new revenue and exceeds quota.
