Job description
The Shipping Clerk is responsible for managing and coordinating daily shipping operations to ensure the accurate, timely, and efficient movement of products. This role prepares shipping documentation, communicates with carriers and warehouse personnel, maintains transportation records, and supports inventory control activities. The Shipping Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring customer satisfaction by monitoring shipments, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining compliance with company policies and transportation regulations.
Monday- Friday 6am-2:30pm
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, delivery receipts, and shipping manifests.
- Coordinate outbound shipments with carriers, drivers, and warehouse personnel.
- Verify shipment contents against customer orders and shipping instructions.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory movements, and transportation documentation.
- Schedule pickups and deliveries with transportation providers.
- Monitor shipment status and provide updates to customers and internal stakeholders as needed.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, customer requirements, and transportation regulations.
- Assist with inventory reconciliation and cycle count activities.
- Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, shortages, and documentation errors.
- Enter and maintain shipping data within warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, and spreadsheets.
- Support receiving and warehouse operations during peak periods.
- Maintain organized filing systems for shipping and transportation records.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
