Yellowstone Club’s Health & Wellness department is currently seeking candidates for a Fitness Instructor for the upcoming Winter season! Our Winter employment months are November – April. 


The purpose of the Fitness Instructor is to instruct group or individual fitness classes to the ability of the Members and guest participating. The Instructors deliver classes with an enthusiastic and engaging teaching style to promote a safe and fun atmosphere for all.


Major Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that each member and guest receives outstanding guest service in a guest friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every member and guest, maintaining outstanding service standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of guest service.
  • Empowered to guarantee total guest satisfaction, display hospitality and professionalism to our guests at all times, take pride in representing Yellowstone Club professionally with our members and guests and assure that all transactions with guests are handled in a legal and ethical manner.
  • Understand and apply all property safety and security procedures to maintain a secure and safe environment for employees, members, and guests at all times.  In the event of an accident or emergency, seek medical attention if necessary and contact the General Manager or Human Resources immediately. 
  • Maintain a favorable working relationship with all company employees to foster and promote a positive working environment.

  • Seek most efficient manner in which to meet Member expectations.
  • Keep detailed records of Member preferences and requests.

  • Anticipate and address Member and guests' service needs.
  • Assist individuals with disabilities; always show genuine interest and appreciation.
  • Maintain professionalism when interacting with Members, guests and co-workers.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team/co-workers to reach common goals; listen/respond appropriately feedback from co-workers in and outside of your department.
  • Clean up instruction space after each class

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Properly open and close Camphouse each day according to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Provide detailed descriptions of Camphouse Fitness Center facility, machinery, fitness events and lessons to Members and guests.
  • Actively promote the facility, lessons, services, sessions and retail.
  • Keep facility clean, amenities stocked.
  • Assist in all areas of Camphouse as directed by supervisor or manager.
  • Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to Manager; complete safety training and certifications.
  • Provide specific knowledge of the fitness class to be taught.
  • Prepare class by cleaning up props, room, equipment etc.
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established Club policies,  procedures, and standards of service to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
  • Meet departmental productivity, organization, punctuality/attendance and consistency standards.
  • Maintain a positive and respectful attitude.
  • Treat Members, guests, vendors, customers and co-workers with professionalism and respect at all times.  
  • Maintain privacy of our Members at all time.
  • Maintain a clean and neat appearance at all times.  
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with all employees, supervisors, managers and directors.
  • Perform work in a safe and high quality manner.
  • Project a favorable image of Yellowstone Club to Members and guests at all times.
  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.  Long hours may be required due to business demands.
  • Cleans work spaces by cleaning desks or taking out trash.

Experience/Education Required

High school diploma, GED or vocational training or job-related course work; Minimum of one year experience and/or related skills in Yoga, Spin, Boot Camp, Kick Boxing, and/or Mat Pilates; Current, valid CPR and basic first aid certification; Ability to instruct a multitude of skill level, both group and individual

Experience/Education Preferred

Bachelor’s degree is related field 

Certificates & Licenses

Valid State Driver’s License; Current, valid CPR and basic first aid certification; 


Computer Skills

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office systems

Language Ability

Able to speak clearly and effectively with Members, guests, co-workers, vendors and other Yellowstone Club departments.  Able to write clearly and legibly.  


Math Ability

Able to perform basic math calculations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve basic problems and/or know when it is necessary to get a manager to assist in problem solving.

Compensation

  • 50% of the compensation for this position will come from commissions (including Service Charge but excluding voluntary gratuity which is not considered wages)
  • The position is commissioned and exempt from over time.
