Job description

The difference between a door that seals tight and one that rattles comes down to fractions you can barely see. As a Production Associate you will help build custom commercial doors and entry systems that end up in schools, hospitals, factories, and public buildings across the country. This is hands on work in a climate controlled shop where tape measures matter and teamwork is not a slogan. You will read templates, square frames, run equipment, and keep parts moving so the next crew can do their job. If you like steady hours, clear expectations, and the quiet satisfaction of a door that fits right the first time, this will make sense to you.
This Decatur, Michigan manufacturer has been building engineered architectural door systems since 1971. The operation produces fiberglass and aluminum entrance systems for commercial and public projects nationwide and is known for organized production flow, practical leadership, and opportunities to cross train into multiple departments.
Each day you will assemble custom door frames using hand and power tools, read templates and measurements down to 1/32 inch, operate upstream equipment including CNC machinery, inspect parts, and keep product flowing safely to the next stage of production.
What we offer the Production Associate position:
$17.00 per hour
Monday through Friday, 6:00am to 4:30pm
Paid weekly
Benefits:
• Medical insurance
• Dental insurance
• Vision insurance
• Paid time off
• Holiday pay
• 401k options
• Climate controlled work environment
• Cross training into multiple departments
• “A $100 bonus for every friend you refer to us, plus an additional $25 bonus for your referral to WSI.”
Permanent hire is possible based on attendance, performance, and production needs.
Qualifications for this position:
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to read a tape measure down to 1/32 inch
• Must be able to speak, write, and read basic English.
• Knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic math including fractions and ratios
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 70 pounds with assistance
• Ability to work on your feet and as part of a team
• Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime as needed
If you take pride in straight lines, tight corners, and work that holds up for decades, this is your lane. Bring your mechanical sense and your work ethic. There is a spot on the floor ready for someone who shows up and gets it right.
By submitting your application for this position, you are agreeing to receive communication from WSI, which may include calls, texts, and emails. You can unsubscribe from email or SMS messages by replying ‘stop’ at any time.
