Job description

Somebody has to look at every part before it leaves the building. In Grand Haven, that somebody is the Machine Operator. Parts come off the injection molding machine hot and fast, and it is your job to catch the ones that do not measure up before they ever make it into a box. Not glamorous. Not hard to understand either. You watch, you check, you sort, and by the end of the shift you know exactly what you accomplished.

This is an injection molding operation producing plastic components for industrial and commercial use, running a full production floor with high-volume output and a real emphasis on getting the details right. It is a plant environment, standing work, moving parts, and a pace set by the machines rather than the clock. The work itself is hands-on and repetitive in a way that rewards attention rather than punishing it. You will pull parts off belts as they come out of the injection molding machines, visually inspect each one against spec, run gage checks where required, and sort anything that does not meet the standard before it ever reaches packaging. Good parts get boxed and packaged according to written specifications, control plans get filled out as you go, and if something looks off in the process, that gets flagged to a supervisor before it becomes a bigger problem. There is lifting involved, up to 50 pounds, along with standing, bending, and reaching for most of the shift, and the expectation is that the work area stays clean and organized as part of the job, not an afterthought.

What We Offer

  • Pay: $15 per hour on 1st shift, $16 per hour on 2nd and 3rd shift
  • 1st shift: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday
  • 2nd shift: 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday
  • 3rd shift: 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Sunday through Thursday
  • Weekly pay
  • Eligible for a $1 per hour increase after hire, based on work performance and perfect attendance
  • A $100 bonus for every friend you refer to us, plus an additional $25 bonus for your referral to WSI
  • Path to permanent hire based on performance and attendance

Requirements

  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred, but not required
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, and stoop for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Available for overtime based on customer demand
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write basic English

If you have worked a production floor before and know the difference between glancing at a part and actually checking it, this is a role where that habit gets noticed. It is steady, physical work with a clear standard and a real path forward for people who show up and do it right.
