Woodfords Family Services is seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our center-based Community Supports (Expeditions) Program in Westbrook, Maine.
Position Summary
As a DSP, you'll play a key role in supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to build skills, explore their community, and live independent, fulfilling lives. You'll spend your days engaging in a variety of fun and meaningful activities-from bowling, to mini golf, to shopping, and more-while helping individuals achieve their personal goals. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, have a team-oriented approach, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact.
Each day is different, but you can expect to:
  • Encourage independence and self-expression through everyday activities
  • Support with personal care and wellness routines
  • Promote advocacy and inclusion in community settings
  • Plan and share meals and activities that foster connection and choice
  • Be part of a supportive, upbeat team that celebrates every success

Opportunity Details
  • Full-time, 37.5 hours per week - No weekends & paid holidays off!
  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8:30am-3:00p; Tuesday & Thursday 8:30a-5:30p
  • $17.00-19.00 per hour

Not a DSP? We'll get you certified!

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Valid driver's license & use of reliable vehicle with current auto insurance
  • Direct Support Professional (DSP) certification, or successful completion of the full DSP course within 6 months of hire (Employees are paid by Woodfords when attending DSP training)
