ABOUT THE ROLE

The Assistant Project Manager supports the execution of precast/prestressed concrete projects from award through closeout, helping ensure scope, schedule, and budget goals are met. This role assists with project planning, coordination, financial tracking, and contract compliance while maintaining clear communication with internal teams and external partners. They also support meetings, documentation, and change order processes to help drive successful project delivery.

Salary range ($64,000-$84,700). Based on location and experience.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Assist with financial tracking, risk management, and client relations from pre-construction through closeout
  • Support communication between all project stakeholders to ensure alignment with project plans
  • Help ensure contract compliance and timely processing of change orders
  • Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules and tracking progress
  • Support project meetings, coordination, and communication of key updates
  • Assist with project closeout, documentation, and post-project reviews
  • Maintain accurate use of project management software and systems
  • Transition into a full Project Manager role within an expected timeframe

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a detail-oriented construction professional who can support project execution from award through closeout. The ideal candidate is organized, communicative, and able to coordinate across teams while helping keep projects on schedule and within budget. They bring strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to supporting successful project delivery.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

  • Associates degree in construction management or related field preferred
  • Exposure to construction industry preferred
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, jobsite safety, contracts, scheduling, and project management tools
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with ability to clearly convey information
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to analyze data, identify discrepancies, and make sound independent decisions
  • Proficient in MS Office and general computer/software applications (SketchUp a plus)
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build effective working relationships across teams and stakeholders
  • Ability to perform accurate mathematical calculations
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Occasional visits to active plant and field locations are required based on operational needs.
  • Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required while in the plant and field.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and navigate active plant and field environments as needed.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, walk on uneven surfaces, and safely move through industrial work areas.
  • May be exposed to moving equipment, machinery, and other standard industrial hazards.
  • May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, as well as noise, dust, and vibration.
