Assist eligible Medicaid members during their rides to and from appointments.
Essential FunctionsPerform assigned daily transports in a safe and timely manner.
Complete all paperwork required for transportation services rendered.
Complete a daily inspection of the assigned vehicle before the start of the day.
Assist students as they board and leave the bus and manage student behavior as well as report student discipline problems to the appropriate administrator.
Communicate with teachers and parents on a daily basis regarding student behavior while on the bus.
Become familiar with all routes to and from the school campus to be of assistance to the driver.
Supervise and assist with the use of seat belts, harnesses, or car seats by students.
Follow emergency procedures and help driver administer first aid, if necessary.
The attendant must be courteous, patient, and professional at all times, as well as neat and clean in appearance per the driver handbook.
Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
The employees must regularly lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
Qualifications RequiredAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
All Attendants must be at least 25 years of age.
Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Minimum Required Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
