Vector Security is seeking an Outside Sales Representative (Residential and Commercial Security Solutions) to grow new and existing customer relationships within an assigned territory. This opportunity offers a combination of base salary and uncapped commission while building relationships with homeowners, business owners, and key decision makers.

SUMMARY:
Vector Security is seeking an Outside Sales Representative (Residential and Commercial)! In this field-based role, you will generate new opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, and in-person meetings with potential customers. Representatives assess customer needs and recommend customized security solutions including alarm systems, video surveillance, access control, fire systems, and smart home technology.
Successful candidates are motivated self-starters who enjoy building relationships in their community, managing their own territory, and developing a strong sales pipeline. By delivering solutions that protect people, property, and operations, representatives play a key role in helping customers feel secure while growing their own income through performance-based earnings.

What You'll Do:
  • Responsible for selling Vector's residential and commercial solutions and achieving bookings, recurring revenue, profit margin and units' targets by proactively scheduling sales appointments with current and prospective customers and ensuring offerings meet the needs of both Vector and the potential customer.
  • Continuously generates and tracks new leads to continue expanding the reach of the business. Maintains a viable pipeline of potential future sales leads. Ensures that all documentation is tracked in the company's CRM platform for management visibility.
  • Maintains in-depth product knowledge via ongoing training and required certifications. Educate customers about various residential and commercial solutions.
  • Upholds relationships with clients to ensure they remain satisfied, that their questions are answered, and that their needs are met.
  • Identifies ways to market products to new consumers, including identifying new target market segments/opportunities.
  • If selling commercial business, works closely with commercial system design team and branch operations to ensure proper scope is defined for commercial installations. If selling residential, works with operations team to ensure effective customer service.

Successful representatives actively build their pipeline through outreach, referrals, and community engagement. Individuals who enjoy building relationships and managing their own territory tend to perform well in this role.
What You'll Need:
  • High School Diploma required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Previous Sales Experience required.
    • 1+ year of successful sales experience with documented performance results
    • Experience managing and growing a book of business, including both new business development and account retention
    • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas or revenue targets
    • Experience in commercial, service-based, or solution-oriented sales environments preferred
  • Prospecting Skills:
    • Proven ability to generate new business through outbound efforts, referrals, and strategic networking
    • Experience building and maintaining consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities
    • Demonstrated ability to identify and pursue commercial sales opportunities within a defined territory
    • Self-directed approach to prospecting and territory growth
  • Presentation Skills:
    • Ability to conduct consultative needs assessments and present tailored solutions to business and residential decision-makers
    • Must be comfortable presenting to business owners and operational leaders
    • Skilled at communicating value and differentiating solutions in competitive environments
  • Closing Skills:
    • Proven ability to close business and consistently meet or exceed sales targets
    • Skilled in negotiating and overcoming objections in competitive sales situations
    • Ability to demonstrate strong follow-through from proposal through contract execution
  • Valid Driver's License required. Reliable transportation and an acceptable driving record - required.
