Job Summary:

The Database Administrator/Developer is responsible for the installation, configuration, upgrade, administration, monitoring, and maintenance of organizational databases. This role involves developing and designing database strategies, ensuring optimal system performance, planning for future expansions, and implementing security measures to safeguard data. The Database Administrator/Developer must have expertise in one or more database technologies, including DB2, Oracle, MS SQL, and MS Access.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and upgrade database management systems.
  • Administer and monitor database performance, ensuring efficiency and security.
  • Develop and implement database strategies for optimization and scalability.
  • Plan and execute database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Improve database performance and capacity while planning for future growth.
  • Implement security measures to protect database integrity and prevent unauthorized access.
  • Design, develop, and maintain data warehouses for business intelligence needs.
  • Coordinate with development teams to ensure seamless database integration.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in database administration and development.
  • Expertise in one or more database technologies: DB2, Oracle, MS SQL, MS Access.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with database security, backup, and recovery procedures.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in database technologies (Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator, etc.).
  • Experience in data warehousing and ETL processes.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP).
