SUMMARY: As an essential member ofour Street Reach North team, the Mental Health Clinician plays a pivotal rolein providing expert care, support, and therapeutic interventions to individualsexperiencing mental health challenges and who are identified as youth who areat high risk of sexual exploitation or already have been victims ofexploitation. This role is integral to fostering emotional well-being andhelping youth navigate their personal journeys.

DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:

In Consultation withlocal services:

o   Conductthorough psychological assessments and evaluations

o   Maintainaccurate and timely clinical documentation

o   Coordinatecare with other healthcare providers and support staff

o   Offercrisis intervention services when necessary

o   Stayupdated with the latest research and best practices in mental health treatment

o   Participatein case conferences and team meetings

o   Advocatefor client needs and rights within the systems

o   All other duties as outlined on thejob description

 

QUALIFICATIONS ANDSKILLS

o   Master'sor Doctorate degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field

o   LicensedClinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)certification

o   Experiencewith diverse populations and range of mental health issues

o   Specializedtraining in trauma-informed care

o   Experienceworking with sexually exploited youth

o   Strongcrisis intervention skills

o   Minimumof 4 years of clinical experience

o   Strongunderstanding of mental health disorders and treatment methodologies

o   Excellentcommunication and interpersonal skills

o   Abilityto maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality

o   Strongorganizational and time management skills

o   Proficiencyin standard office software such as Microsoft Office Suite

 

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

• There is also an option for applicants from the South to work in Thompson on a rotational basis - one week in, followed by one week off at home.
• Must have excellent physical and emotional health.
• Valid 5F Driver's License is required due to frequent travel within and surrounding areas of Thompson, MB
• Must have Emergency First Aid and CPR Level C and De-escalation training. 
• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry and acceptable Prior Contact checks
• Knowledge of Indigenous beliefs, customs, languages and traditions considered an asset.  

SALARY: Based on experiences

LOCATION: Thompson, Manitoba. 

HOURS OF WORK: 40 hours per week.
