Job description

We are seeking a VTC Lead to join our team. You will lead daily VTC operations while serving as the primary escalation point for SBC/CUBE and E911 issues, ensuring stable, compliant, and well‑documented service performance. You will guide administrators, execute shift‑level oversight, and support engineering activities without performing engineering‑level configuration changes. This position will require you to be onsite in either Columbus, OH or Richmond, VA.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Requirements and Specification Development: Translates product or system needs into clear requirements and specifications for simple to moderately complex technical problems.
  • VTC Operational Leadership: Performs shift‑lead duties, provides direction to VTC administrators, and maintains full capability to execute all VTC administrator functions.
  • SBC/CUBE and E911 Escalation & Troubleshooting: Serves as the primary operational escalation point, oversees Tier 1–2 troubleshooting, validates administrative actions, monitors system health, and ensures correct triage and documentation.
  • Operational Participation in Engineering Activities: Supports engineering‑led maintenance, testing, and development by enforcing approved procedures and preventing unauthorized changes.
  • Reporting, Compliance, and Documentation Governance: Manages shift‑level reporting, consolidates operational metrics, sustains audit readiness, ensures enterprise policy compliance, and maintains high‑quality documentation.
  • Training, Mentorship, and SOP Enforcement: Provides shift training, reinforces SOP adherence, supports change management processes, and makes authoritative operational decisions for VTC services within defined authority.
Required Qualifications:
  • Must possess an IAT certification, such as CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent), AND a networking certification, such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • A minimum of six (6) years of progressive Information Technology (IT) experience, including at least two projects in technical areas relevant to the role, with at least one project occurring within the past three (3) years.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field of study
Clearance Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must possess a DoD Top-Secret clearance
