Key Responsibilities

As a Telehealth Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will:

• Diagnose and treat a wide range of mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders, making adjustments to care plans to reflect any changes in the patient’s condition requiring intervention.
• Conduct thorough psycho-social assessments to understand clients' challenges and develop personalized treatment approaches.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to formulate effective discharge plans, facilitating continuity of care through appropriate referrals to community resources and external mental health services.
• Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations, including the standards set forth by the Mental Health Practice Act, while adhering to facility protocols.
• Regularly prioritize and manage caseloads, assessing the needs of new, ongoing, and discharging patients to provide optimal support.
• Provide social work consultations, emotional support, and crisis interventions when necessary, and engage in collaborative problem-solving with families to foster comprehensive care.
• Advocate for patients and families, ensuring effective communication and support in navigating the healthcare system.
• Identify clients at risk for service delays or complex discharge needs, working with leadership to implement timely solutions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your expertise will primarily serve individuals and families dealing with various mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and severe stress, among others. Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree in Social Work or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
• Active State Licensure as an LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, or Psychologist is mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits

Unity Point Behavioral Services offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 90,000 to 100,000 yearly, reflecting the experience and qualifications of our counselors. We also provide a sign-on bonus of up to $1,000 for eligible candidates.
