Key Responsibilities

As a Mental Health Counselor at Unity Point Behavioral Services, you will be responsible for:

• Conducting thorough diagnoses and treating a range of mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders, continually adjusting care plans to reflect the patient's changing needs.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including family members, care providers, and external agencies, to develop comprehensive discharge plans that ensure continuity of care.
• Providing psychosocial assessments and conducting consultations for patients and caregivers to address their needs effectively.
• Facilitating connections to essential community resources, such as treatment programs, support groups, and psychiatric services.
• Complying with all federal, state, and local regulations, ensuring adherence to clinical standards and the Mental Health Practice Act.
• Identifying potential challenges affecting client progress, working proactively with care providers to address issues and mitigate risks.
• Participating in supportive care activities, including providing debriefing sessions after adverse events, in collaboration with the Employee Assistance Program.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be engaging with a diverse population of clients, each facing their unique challenges in mental health. Qualifications

To thrive in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

• A Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution, with all credentials verified.
• A current state license such as LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or psychologist designation.
• A robust understanding of community mental health resources and systems.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to build rapport with clients.
• A self-driven attitude toward client care, maintaining an organized approach even in highly dynamic environments.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits

Unity Point Behavioral Services offers a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $100,000 annually, along with a sign-on bonus of up to $1,000 for eligible candidates. Our therapists benefit from:
