Work Environment

As an Occupational Therapist at our Rehabilitation Facility in scenic San Diego, you will engage in a dynamic and collaborative work culture. Key Responsibilities

In your role as an Occupational Therapist, you will:

• Conduct thorough assessments to understand the physical, cognitive, and emotional needs of each resident, evaluating their ability to perform daily activities and identifying areas for improvement.
• Develop, implement, and continuously refine individualized treatment plans tailored to meet the unique goals of each resident, facilitating their maximum independence.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques and creative activities designed to enhance residents' functional skills, such as adaptive strategies and assistive devices.
• Engage with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate comprehensive care, ensuring all aspects of the resident’s health and rehabilitation are addressed.
• Document patient progress meticulously, making data-driven adjustments to treatment plans based on resident feedback and observed outcomes.
• Educate residents and their families about therapeutic processes, strategies for daily living, and methods to support ongoing recovery at home.
• Ensure adherence to all regulatory standards, maintaining the highest levels of professionalism and ethical practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our rehabilitation facility serves a diverse population of residents, primarily the elderly, who are navigating recovery from various medical conditions, including post-surgical rehabilitation, stroke recovery, and chronic illnesses. Your expertise will be crucial in enabling them to regain functional abilities, boosting their confidence and autonomy in their daily lives.

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Occupational Therapist license in the state of California.
• Bachelor's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited educational program.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members alike.
• A dedication to continuing education and staying current with industry best practices and advancements.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation facility is highly advantageous, providing familiarity with the specific challenges faced by residents.
• Experience in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and treatment plan management.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time role comes with a competitive salary ranging from USD 120,000 to 130,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
