TSP is seeking an Associate Service Engineer to join our team. In this hands-on, customer-facing role, you will install, configure, upgrade, and support technical solutions. This is a home-based field role and will involve travel by personal vehicle (or air, as needed) to various customer sites for service delivery. Business mileage is reimbursed.
Candidates must be located in the Austin, TX area (preferably within a 20-mile radius). Paid training is provided.
ASSOCIATE SERVICE ENGINEERS AT TSP TYPICALLY HAVE THE FOLLOWING JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • After completing 10 to 12 weeks of paid training, provide maintenance support for NetApp and Rubrik systems and perform Rubrik and PayRange installations
  • Schedule service calls and coordinate the delivery of parts to meet customer SLAs
  • Maintain and troubleshoot NetApp and Rubrik storage equipment by following product repair procedures, including disk and controller replacements, while acting as remote hands under the direction of the support center
  • Perform Rubrik storage equipment installations, including unboxing, lifting, rack and stack, cabling, and configuration
  • Install PayRange devices at multiple customer locations throughout the local area
  • Interact with customer IT teams, TSP technical staff, and external support organizations
    • This includes working directly with systems administrators, technical managers, and other customer technical representatives
  • Maintain flexibility to travel outside the assigned coverage area when required
  • Participate in a required 24/7/365 on-call rotation

THE IDEAL PERSON FOR THIS ROLE WILL HAVE EXPERIENCE SUCH AS:
  • Hardware troubleshooting experience through work, military service, or as a trusted technical resource for friends and family
  • Any IT experience or exposure to data center environments is welcome but not required
  • Must be tech-savvy with a general understanding of Microsoft Outlook
  • Must demonstrate good job stability as reflected in employment history
  • Must be fluent in English and demonstrate excellent communication skills, including phone, email, and in-person communication
  • Must be reliable, proactive, and able to take ownership of multiple customer engagements
  • Positive attitude, professionalism, self-motivation, and the ability to learn quickly
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency by effectively prioritizing workload, managing multiple service requests, proactively communicating with customers and internal teams, maintaining accurate, real-time documentation, and consistently meeting scheduled commitments with professionalism and punctuality
  • Education: Associate's or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred
    • High school diploma or GED required

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THIS ROLE:
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Must have a reliable personal vehicle for travel to customer sites and maintain active automobile insurance that meets state minimum coverage requirements
  • Must be able to lift and install equipment weighing up to 75 pounds into customer racks
  • Must be available for an on-call or standby rotation, including nights, weekends, evenings, and occasional holidays
  • Pay: up to $21.00 per hour
