TDS Operations Analyst

Location: Toronto, ON

Onsite Flexibility: Hybrid

Contract Details
  • Position Type: Contract
  • Pay Rate: $30.00-$35.00 / Hour (USD)
  • Shift / Schedule: Monday to Friday, core business hours
  • Travel Requirements: Not required

Job Summary

The Funding and Money Market Middle Office is part of Capital Market Middle Office and partners with the front office and other areas within TD Securities globally to mitigate risk for TD and our clients. We are a global team that is responsible for the cash management of TD Securities' external trading bank accounts and for determining TD Securities' internal funding requirements and communicating these to the appropriate funding desks. The Funding and Money Market Middle Office team communicates daily with both internal and external business groups such as various front office partners, offshore offices, and externally with correspondent banks to meet our Service Level Agreement. In addition, this group manages confirmations, settlements, and trade support processes for TD Securities' Money Market trading activities. The team is heavily involved in strategic initiatives, business development, and process improvements to drive efficiency, improve client service levels, and reduce risk.

Key Responsibilities

Specific Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Manage, analyze, and direct USD dollar payments flow for main trading Nostro by utilizing various applications such as Intraday Liquidity Tool (IDL) and Liquidity Control Manager (LCM).
  • Investigate exceptional Nostro account balances under TD Securities.
  • Manage the Daily Funding Requirement platform and the Internal funding relationship setups with various Funding desks.
  • Assist manager to approve and release daily transactions; provide guidance to Junior Analysts when issues arise.
  • Manage change and deal with ambiguity effectively in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Identify, understand, and manage risk appropriately.

Accountabilities to the Customer

  • Process transactions accurately and on time.
  • Escalate processing issues where necessary to ensure a high level of service is maintained.
  • Serve clients as required - adhere to Service Level Agreements and internal service delivery standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve service delivery; support process improvement initiatives.

Accountabilities to the Shareholder

  • Prioritize and manage own workload to meet SLA requirements for service and productivity.
  • Follow firm and industry regulations and operating practices in completing and recording transactions for either the firm or clients.
  • Escalate non-standard or high risk transactions or other activities as appropriate.
  • Ensure documentation prepared/completed is accurate and properly reflects client/business intentions and is consistent with relevant rules/regulations.
  • Complete investigations - report/escalate risk issues identified or process gaps.
  • Assist in analysis, development, testing, and implementation of operating and process improvements.

  • Major banking experience.
  • Familiarity with financial products for Canadian banks.
  • Ability to create VBA macros (considered an asset).

Education Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in Economics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or other discipline.
  • Master's degree (nice to have).

Required Experience
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant operations experience - financial, Big 4, or banking (co-op experience is acceptable).
  • Minimum three years of experience in an analytical role at a financial institution.

Nice-to-Have Experience
  • Financial-related experience.
  • Open to new graduates with relevant education and co-op experience in a related field.
