Job description

Role: Interviewer

Pay Rate: Base rate

Training Dates: November 4-15, 2026 (includes travel in and travel out dates)

Training Mode: In-person, Ann Arbor, MI

Production Dates: November 2026 - spring 2028

Data Collection Mode: Face-to-face and Phone (nationally)

Required Qualifications and Duties - Interviewer

  • Attend a 10-day training November 4-15, 2026 (includes travel in and travel out dates)

  • Available to work a minimum of 25 hours per week with a variable schedule to include weekdays, evenings, and weekends to meet respondent availability

  • Conduct face-to-face interviews of respondents from the 2001-2003 NSAL data collection project, many of whom live in predominantly Black/African American communities. These interviews will be conducted in the homes of study participants who reside in a variety of neighborhoods ranging from wealthy to highly disadvantaged.

  • Successful candidates will be comfortable conducting 2.5 hour in-person interviews with physical measures and cognitive assessments, in study participant's home

  • Ability to traverse several blocks at a time, including ascending and descending stairs, reaching the floor and overhead, remaining stationary for up to 2.5 hours, and transporting equipment weighing approximately 25 pounds

  • Have a valid driver's license, up-to-date insurance, and access to reliable private transportation. (Subways, buses, taxis and ride shares like Uber or Lyft are not considered private transportation - exceptions may be granted for some areas of NYC)

  • Ability to drive up to 100 miles one way to participant's home

  • Attend mandatory weekly virtual team calls on weekdays during business hours
