Job description

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST - (TEMPORARY FULL TIME/PART TIME).

Sun Valley Specialty Healthcare, Inc. /Totally Kids is a sub-acute facility that provides pediatric speech, occupational, and physical therapies for children from 0-21 years. We are looking for a part-time or full-time experienced, compassionate, and energetic occupational therapist to join our collaborative interdisciplinary team of therapists on a temporary basis starting in June 2026.
Occupational Therapist Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Caseload includes children and young adults aged 0 to 21 years in long-term care settings
  • Performs evaluations, sets appropriate goals, and provides quality occupational therapy to residents with an emphasis on facilitating independence, health, wellness, and enhanced quality of life.
  • Supervises and supports OTAs according to state guidelines.
  • Builds and maintains rapport with family members; provides parent/caregiver education as needed.
  • Communicates and collaborates with other team members about occupational therapy services.
  • Completes professional documentation including evaluations, progress reports, daily notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary Care Plan documentation and care conferences as requested.
  • Enters appropriate billing for resident services into electronic medical system.
  • Develops, writes, and instructs clients and families in therapy home programs.
  • Assists in orientation and training of other staff members.
  • Assists in projects related to development of clinical programs and/or accomplishment of department goals.

Qualifications:
  • Current and valid CA OT license.
  • Experience with pediatric population is highly preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with feeding and dysphagia is a plus, but not required.
  •  Ability to meet deadlines; detailed and task-oriented.
  • Comfort participating as part of an interdisciplinary medical team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Job Benefits:
  •  $38-45/hour.
  • Full time: 30-40 hours per week.
  • Part time: 20-30 hours per week.
  • Work-life balance: flexible schedule to make up hours on a weekly basis; hours may be split into 4- to 10-hour days.

  • Paid full rate for BLS/CPR and Fire certification renewals.
  • Knowledgeable and cooperative interdisciplinary team.
