World-renowned Sun Valley Resort is seeking an experienced Laundry and Dry Cleaning Manager

Sun Valley Resort is seeking an experienced Laundry & Dry Cleaning Manager to lead the daily operations of the Resort's commercial laundry and dry cleaning department. This position is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality, cleanliness, and efficiency while leading a dedicated team, managing department budgets, and collaborating with other Resort departments to support exceptional guest experiences. The ideal candidate is an experienced hospitality leader with strong organizational, communication, and team development skills.

We’re not saying Sun Valley has special powers, but a lot of magical things do happen here.  The slopes on Bald and Dollar mountains enjoy a nearly lift line-free experience, not to mention a nearly cloud-free one as well.  Sun Valley is rich in tradition and history, dating back to 1936, however complete remodel of the Lodge concluded in 2015 with the newly added 20,000 sq. foot spa.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the Resort's commercial laundry and dry cleaning department, fostering a positive, safe, and productive work environment.
  • Direct the day-to-day operations of the department, ensuring the timely cleaning and processing of Resort-owned and guest linens, terry, uniforms, and dry-cleaning items.
  • Recruit, hire, train, coach, develop, and evaluate team members, including performance management, recognition, corrective action, and disciplinary processes.
  • Monitor departmental expenses and support budget planning while maintaining cost controls and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee inventory levels and supply purchasing to ensure adequate stock while managing costs.
  • Review guest satisfaction feedback and implement process improvements to enhance service quality.
  • Support departmental and Resort strategic initiatives while maintaining high operational and service standards.
  • Work collaboratively with Housekeeping, Public Area Cleaning, Maintenance, and other Resort departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Foster positive working relationships with Resort leadership and contribute to cross-departmental initiatives.
  • Attend and actively participate in Resort leadership meetings and departmental planning sessions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated passion for customer service and creating a positive, team-oriented work environment.
  • Previous leadership experience in commercial laundry, housekeeping, hospitality operations, or a related field preferred.
  • Four or more years of progressive experience in housekeeping, commercial laundry, hospitality operations, or a related environment preferred.
  • Proven experience leading, coaching, and developing employees.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to monitor expenses, manage departmental budgets, and maintain cost controls.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality and cleanliness standards.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple departments.
  • Spanish language skills are beneficial.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as business needs require.
  • Current U.S. Driver's License required.
  • Engage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, and reaching.
  • Ability to safely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
