  • Pre-Bid & Client Interface: Attend client pre-bid meetings, review RFQs, technical drawings, and project scopes. Conduct site visits to evaluate field conditions and gather data impacting project cost and schedule.
  • Cost Modeling: Utilize Strike’s approved estimating tools, databases, and historical data to build competitive bids that include direct labor, equipment, materials, subcontractor, and indirect costs.
  • Collaboration with Operations: Work closely with West Texas project managers and field leadership to validate assumptions, resource requirements, and production rates reflective of Strike’s actual field capabilities.
  • Bid Strategy Development: Assist in developing bid strategies aligned with Strike’s operational strengths and client expectations, ensuring accuracy and margin protection.
  • Estimate Review & Presentation: Participate in estimate reviews with leadership, presenting detailed cost breakdowns and justifications.
  • Continuous Improvement: Maintain and update Strike’s cost history database, productivity metrics, and material pricing for ongoing accuracy.
  • Project Handover: Support project transitions by communicating estimate assumptions, resource allocations, and scope details to operations teams.
  • Market Knowledge: Stay informed of regional market conditions, competitor pricing, and West Texas labor and material trends.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience estimating pipeline construction or facility projects within the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge of pipeline construction methods, welding and manufacturing, compressor/pump stations, and facility tie-ins.
  • Experience with Hard Dollar, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Onscreen Takeoff, Excel.
  • Proven track record preparing estimates from RFQs, P&IDs, isometrics, and client specifications.
  • Experience with unit rate and lump-sum estimating.
  • Prior field experience in pipeline or facility construction is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field preferred.

Core Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with clients, engineers, and field personnel.
  • High degree of professionalism and accountability with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Commitment to Strike’s core values: Safety, Integrity, Teamwork, and Excellence.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

  • Based primarily in an office setting, with regular travel to project sites across West Texas and surrounding regions.
  • Must be able to walk job sites, climb over pipeline right-of-way, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Standard business hours Monday through Friday; extended hours as project demands require.
