Job description

Job Description Come join the team at Clarinda Correctional Facility as a Registered Nurse. This position is eligible for a $3,000 recruitment bonus - NOTE: Current state employees are not eligible for recruitment payments upon transfer, demotion or promotion to another agency. Registered Nurse duties in a correctional facility performs professional nursing role similar to outpatient services in the community.

Registered nurses participate in the management of the nursing care of patients within a health care environment; provide clinical leadership and assist practitioners; plans and conducts educational sessions, including teaching that requires a registered nursing license; administers medication, triage patient complaints and coordinates the care of residents in a correctional environment with multi-disciplinary team which includes physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists, optometrists & dentists The qualified individual must be a registered nurse with a current State of Iowa license, be able to triage, adapt to changing environments and have professional communication skills. Current state employees are not eligible for recruitment payments upon transfer, demotion or promotion to another agency.
