    Sensory Scientist Sr will drive complex, cross-functional sensory research projects, leading multiple efforts simultaneously, often globally distributed teams. Will work autonomously and appropriately apply knowledge, processes, skills, tools and techniques to research projects in order to meet project and program objectives. Will also influence and advance project management methodologies at Starbucks
    As a Sensory Scientist Sr, you will...
    • Explore and design new research methodologies that accurately and efficiently align to the Starbucks business objectives, functional area and/or company goals and strategies
    • Ensure and influence the timing, scope and resources assigned to each project is aligned with the business unit's leaders and company's goals
    • Explore the development of new and existing testing methodologies and tools to support Starbucks product portfolio needs.
    We'd love to hear from people with:
    • Education B.S. Sensory evaluation or product development experience in food/beverage, or behavior/psychology, preferred.
    • 3 years of experience skilled in designing experiments and analyzing data using statistical software
    • 5 years of experience in specific field or utilizing designated skills Sensory training and test execution for a food or beverage company including focus group and other qualitative testing
    *If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
    The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
