Assist licensed nursing staff in providing direct patient care in the emergency center.
Help maintain the environment of the nursing unit under the direction of the staff nurse.
Support the delivery of emergency care to patients across all age groups within the scope of defined practice.
About this Unit
The emergency department provides emergency care to all populations from newborn to geriatric. Specialty services include Level 2 trauma center, Center of excellence for heart and vascular and stroke. Comprehensive orientation including EC (Emergency Center) focused immersion program.
About Taylor Hospital
A Magnet-designated hospital that is a recognized health care leader serving the area since 1977. It offers specialty services that include 24-hour emergency care, wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, a surgical pavilion, a pain management clinic, orthopedic surgery, an inpatient rehabilitation facility and full-service radiology, including advanced CT with cardiac scoring, fixed MRI including pacemaker, cinema vision and ultrasound (MSK and elastography).
Scope of work
Under moderate direction, assists licensed nursing staff in providing direct patient care and helps in the environment maintenance of the nursing unit under the direction of the staff nurse and within the scope of defined practice.
Qualifications
Completion of Mental health Certificate program, 2 years college with major in Behavioral Science, or 4 years equivalent work experience in a behavioral health setting. Bachelor's degree in a behavioral science field preferred.
1 year in behavioral setting preferred.
BLS and CPI training required
Good communication skills.
Work well in an unpredictable environment.
Must be able to occasionally handle working in a high paced stressful environment/situation
