Key Responsibilities

As an LPCC at Small Steps, you will:

  • Manage a caseload of clients, establishing rapport and fostering positive therapeutic relationships while adhering to professional ethics and boundaries.
  • Conduct regular sessions to review client progress, address stability, schedule upcoming appointments, and facilitate appropriate discharges.
  • Develop, implement, and consistently monitor individualized, person-centered treatment plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.
  • Keep accurate and timely documentation, including progress notes and treatment records, to ensure compliance and facilitate ongoing care.
  • Perform intake assessments to identify client needs and establish appropriate therapeutic interventions.
  • Participate in individual supervision to enhance your clinical skills and receive support for your professional growth.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other healthcare providers, to ensure holistic care and effective treatment strategies.
  • Embrace a growth mindset, continuously seeking opportunities to learn and develop as a mental health professional.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with an outpatient population encompassing a wide range of mental health issues. Our client base includes children, teenagers, and adults facing anxiety, depression, trauma, and various life transitions. The role demands a high degree of empathy, adaptability, and direct communication skills to effectively engage with clients from various backgrounds.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you will need:

  • A Master’s degree in mental health counseling or a related field, which is essential for your practice.
  • A valid Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) license that is unrestricted, independent, and active in California.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a clinical outpatient setting following your graduate education, showcasing your ability to provide effective mental health services.
  • Comfort and proficiency in using various computer systems including Excel, RMS software, Outlook, and PIMSY for documentation and client management.
Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, candidates with the following experiences will be well-received:

  • Direct experience providing psychotherapy services to individuals and families, particularly in a telehealth format.
  • Familiarity with conducting intake assessments, enabling you to swiftly and accurately identify client needs.
Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 75,000 to 90,000 annually, dependent on experience and credentials. We operate on a fee-for-service model providing guaranteed rates, with compensation paid in advance of collections, ensuring financial stability for our clinicians. Additional benefits include:
