Job description

Basic Function

Reporting to the Operations Manager and based at Red Giant Oil Company, LLC located in Joshua, Texas, the Bulk Operator is an entry-level position responsible for the accurate blending, processing and transferring of petroleum products safely and efficiently.  This position is safety-sensitive (drug testing is required both as a condition of employment as well as ongoing post-hire) and overtime-eligible.  The successful clearance of a pre-employment background check is also a condition of employment.  The general work schedule is Monday - Friday, 7AM-3:30PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.  Work schedules and overtime are determined by the company and as the business requires.  To learn more about Red Giant Oil Company, LLC, please visit: https://redgiantoil.com/           

Job Duties
  • Blending and transferring of petroleum products
  • Loads and unloads petroleum products to/from railcars, trailers and other equipment
  • Moves fleet equipment using a shag truck
  • Operates a shuttle wagon
  • Collects and analyzes product samples utilizing general lab equipment  
  • Performs routine maintenance of equipment and facility including groundskeeping as needed
  • Inspects inbound and outbound trailers and railcars
  • Enters information into multiple databases as required
  • Performs general plant cleaning
  • Other duties as assigned
Experience

6 months of experience in an industrial or manufacturing role and setting.

Education

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.  

Required Skills

Strong attention to detail and a high emphasis on safety.  Must be capable of working independently, be adaptable, reliable and motivated.  Knowledge of Microsoft products such as Outlook, Word & Excel.  

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Conditions

75% plant-based with 25% office-based work.  Subject to all weather conditions, including out of doors and varying road conditions. Depending on assignment, may be exposed to close confined spaces.  No travel is required for this position.
