Job description

Join Our Team as a Facilities Technician II!

Are you a hands-on problem solver with a knack for keeping things running smoothly? We’re looking for a skilled Facilities Technician II to maintain and repair our building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC. In this role, you’ll tackle a variety of tasks - from troubleshooting equipment issues and performing installations to carpentry and painting projects - ensuring our facilities operate at their best. If you’re detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and ready to take on challenges with minimal supervision, we’d love to hear from you!
 
This position will be Onsite in our Niles, IL HQ! 

  • Repairs and maintains machinery and equipment through troubleshooting and resolving issues.
  • Installs equipment, machinery, and/or fixtures
  • Maintains and repairs the facility’s structure, equipment and grounds, including plumbing, electrical and HVAC.
  • Performs skilled trades work, such as carpentry or painting in the construction, repair or alteration of structures such as walls, roofs or office fixtures.
  • Makes periodic or special inspections of the premise to determine if any repair work is necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Minimum of 2 years of maintenance work experience working on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.
  • Must have a comprehensive understanding of electricity, ampacity, multi-voltage distribution systems and be able to select proper conductors and bend conduit.
  • Must have excellent mechanical aptitude.
  • Able to read and work from blueprints and schematics
  • Able to analyze mechanical problems, recommend solutions, and initiate repairs.
  • Comprehensive knowledge basic welding and carpentry
  • Capable of operating a band saw, table saw, drill press, and portable electric hand tools.
  • Has substantial understanding of the job, and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks.
  • Ability to work independently, receiving little instruction on daily work, but receiving general instructions on newly introduced assignments.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs without assistance.
  • Must be a team player
  • Must have good oral and written skills
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Must have excellent time management skills
  • Experience working with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)

PAY TRANSPARENCY
Shure offers a competitive compensation structure that is reviewed annually to attract, hire, and retain the industry’s top talent. Base salaries vary based on qualifications, geography, experience, and expertise in each respective discipline. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base salary for the opportunity. The base salary for this position ranges from $46,000 to $68,000. If your salary expectations do not align, still apply as we are often flexible on the seniority of posted positions. All positions also include an award-winning benefits package.
