Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize evidence-based mental health therapy techniques and interventions to deliver services to individuals and families diagnosed with emotional and behavioral disorders.
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and collaboratively develop initial care and discharge plans customized to individual client needs.
  • Facilitate individual, group, or family therapy sessions, employing a variety of therapeutic modalities as indicated in the treatment plan.
  • Document psychotherapy services accurately in compliance with both facility and professional standards, updating treatment plans as necessary.
  • Manage a consistent caseload, allowing you to build rapport and trust with clients while working collaboratively with the treatment team to enhance service delivery.
  • Actively participate in team meetings to discuss client progress and collaborate on treatment strategies with colleagues.
  • Exhibit a positive, empathetic, and professional demeanor in all interactions with clients to foster a supportive therapeutic atmosphere.
  • Address and rectify any client concerns promptly to ensure patient satisfaction and safety is never compromised.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with emerging trends and best practices in mental health therapy.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a mental health counselor at Sharpman Counseling, you will engage with a diverse patient population, including adolescents, adults, and families. Our focus is on delivering tailored therapeutic interventions that empower clients to achieve their personal goals, overcome barriers, and improve their mental well-being. You will work closely with clients to facilitate meaningful change through supportive counseling and practical strategies.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a Human Services field is required.
  • Valid state or national licensure for therapy provision; candidates must hold one of the following licenses: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
  • Proven experience working with varying age groups, including adults, children, and adolescents, demonstrating versatility in approach and sensitivity to client needs.
Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, prior experience in community health settings or comparable environments is preferred. Familiarity with outpatient practices, knowledge of therapeutic techniques, and an understanding of various mental health issues will be greatly valued.
