The Sharp Wellness Clinic, PC is actively seeking a dedicated and fully licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations, utilizing standardized tools and clinical judgment to identify clients' mental health needs, ensuring accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to individuals and families, employing a variety of modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and other approaches tailored to specific client circumstances.
• Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals including case managers and psychiatrists, coordinating care that addresses the multifaceted needs of our clients.
• Respond to crisis situations with immediate intervention strategies, employing compassionate support and professional expertise to stabilize and guide clients through acute distress.
• Participate in community outreach initiatives, facilitating educational workshops and resources to promote mental health awareness and reduce stigma in the Buffalo area.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with clients experiencing substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health issues, and related challenges. This role requires sensitivity and adaptability, as you will encounter individuals from diverse backgrounds and circumstances. Understanding the unique needs of clients in a detox center environment is essential for tailoring your therapeutic approach effectively.

Qualifications

• Possession of an independent and active license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
• A master's degree or doctorate in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to establish strong therapeutic relationships with clients from varied backgrounds.
• Demonstration of cultural competence and sensitivity when working with individuals from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic groups.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities to ensure effective documentation of client progress and treatment plans.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in detox, rehabilitation, or similar settings is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with telehealth platforms and virtual treatment methods will be an advantage.
• Proficiency in delivering group therapy sessions and conducting psychoeducational workshops.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 70,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and credentials. The benefits package includes:
