Sentara Wellness Center is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our dynamic team in Waterbury, Connecticut. Work Environment

Working remotely from the comfort of your own home, you will engage with clients via teletherapy sessions, ensuring flexibility and accessibility. Our outpatient office environment promotes teamwork and professional collaboration, with regular virtual meetings to discuss case management, share insights, and support one another in our therapeutic efforts.

Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Sentara Wellness Center, your responsibilities will include:

• Establishing a positive and trusting rapport with clients to create a safe and supportive therapeutic environment.
• Diagnosing and treating a range of mental health disorders using evidence-based therapeutic practices.
• Creating personalized treatment plans that address the unique needs and circumstances of each patient.
• Conducting regular counseling sessions with individuals and couples, facilitating open communication and emotional processing.
• Participating in ongoing assessments of patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve therapeutic goals.
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals and referring clients to specialists when additional support is required.
• Maintaining comprehensive records of patient interactions and treatment interventions to ensure continuity of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The clients you will serve at Sentara Wellness Center include individuals, couples, and families navigating various mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and more. By utilizing a family systems perspective, you will help them understand the dynamics at play within their relationships and empower them to foster healthier connections.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• A valid license to practice as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
• A master’s or doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of mental health treatment modalities and a commitment to utilizing evidence-based practices.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, providing empathy and support to clients.
• Demonstrated ability to engage clients effectively and motivate them towards personal growth and recovery.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, the following experiences would greatly enhance success in this role:

• Specialized training or experience in addiction counseling, particularly with co-occurring disorders.
• Familiarity with teletherapy platforms and techniques for engaging clients in a virtual setting.
• Previous experience in outpatient settings focusing on family dynamics and relationship counseling.

Compensation and Benefits

Sentara Wellness Center offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 to $90,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience. In addition to a comprehensive salary, you will enjoy a robust benefits package, including:
