Job description

SUMMARY:The Instrument & Electrical Technician II willbe requiredto work in a team environment toaccomplishthe maintenanceobjectivesidentified by theMaintenance Superintendent. They are responsible PLC programming andRSLogix5000 troubleshooting. Theyare responsible forthe safe and properinstallation,maintenance and repair of all plant instrumentation and electrical equipment. Duties also include calibration of crucial equipment such as, Turbidimeter, chemical tank transmitters, rewiring of buckets, responding to plant needs during scheduled on call, control valve work and tuning,maintainingproper documentation of equipment data files and contributing to overallwell-beingof the plant.

RESPONSIBILITIES:includethe following.Other duties may be assigned at management's discretion.

  • All Duties of I&E Tech I
  • Follow all established safety procedures for safe maintaining of all plant equipment
  • Ensure proper record keeping of calibrations in equipment data files
  • Perform calibrations and repair of PH sensors, Pressure, Temperature and Flow transmitters
  • Maintain plant Allen Bradley DCS system, PLC's and supporting instrumentation
  • Provide leadership in professionalism and ethics
  • Work with operations and supervision to solve plant problems
  • Work on motors and 480v systems including troubleshooting mcc buckets, breakers, controllers,
  • Work on plant energy center equipment such as boilers, generators, compressors etc.
  • Run and repair Heat Trace, electrical conduit, wiring and cabling for repairs or new installs.
  • Understand and support QSH&E goals and objectives, and on-going improvement plans and activities
  • Work directly with and oversee vendors
  • Manage projects based in the I&E field of work
  • Telecommunications and Networking within plant
  • Acrison and bleaching clay project knowledge
  • Low voltage systems
  • Development of systems for projects and future expansions

REQUIREMENTS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty/function satisfactorily.The requirements listed below are representative of the work environment, knowledge, skills, and/or abilityrequiredor preferred.Reasonable accommodation may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essentialfunctions aslisted below.

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in biodiesel and/or bio-fuels industryaredesirable.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:This position is primarily operational and requires significant physical activity. The role involves frequent walking, standing, and stair climbing, along with lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 lbs. Employees will regularly perform pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing. Work is often conducted in outdoor environments and variable weather conditions, with exposure to elements such as heat, cold, and moisture. Adequate visual acuity for reading and monitoring equipment, as well as effective communication skills for verbaland written interactions, are essential. Employees must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) for their work areas.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:Workenvironmentis based on assigned units of a manufacturing plant, with frequent mobility through all areas of production. This position will be exposed to all outside climate conditions.The noise level varieswidely within different areas of production.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE:10-hour shifts, working schedule to bedetermined.Occasionally extended hours or changes in schedule will be required as special circumstances arise.
