We are seeking a Diminishing Manufacturing Sources & Material Shortages Engineering Lead

The Capacity Growth Office (CGO) Diminishing Manufacturing Sources & Material Shortages Engineering Lead (DMSMS) ensures that Raytheon maintains a proactive, standardized, and technically sound approach to DMSMS management. This position directly strengthens execution, supply chain resilience, technical readiness, and enterprise alignment—ultimately enabling Raytheon to meet customer commitments with stability, predictability, and innovation.

The CGO is seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking engineering leader to serve as the CGO Engineering DMSMS Lead. This role is responsible for driving enterprise-wide Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) mitigation efforts and establishing a consistent, cross‑ business approach to managing obsolescence and component risk.

The ideal candidate brings strong engineering leadership experience, a track record‑ of standardizing processes across large organizations, and the ability to coordinate solutions across engineering, supply chain, programs, and customer partners.

This position plays a critical role in strengthening Raytheon’s technical readiness and ensuring predictable execution across production and development programs. The DMSMS Lead will direct governance activities, mature enterprise tools and playbooks, and guide mitigation strategies executed through a matrixed team aligned by commodity.

This role supports the CGO Engineering Initiatives Leader.

What You Will Do

DMSMS Engineering Execution

  • Lead the development, coordination, and execution of DMSMS mitigation Courses of Action (COAs), ensuring timely and effective resolution of risks

  • Collaborate closely with program leadership, Raytheon LT, Supply Chain, and customer organizations to align priorities and ensure consistent application of mitigation strategies

  • Partner with cross functional engineering teams to identify and eliminate‑ technical roadblocks that impact program execution, production flow, and supply continuity.

  • Manage a team of matrixed engineers aligned by commodity to execute mitigation strategies, ensuring clear ownership, consistent communication, and measurable progress

  • Apply rigorous systems engineering and problem-solving approaches to drive root cause identification, risk reduction, and ‑long-term‑ stability

DMSMS Engineering Governance, Tools, and Standards

  • Lead the Raytheon DMSMS Council to drive enterprise alignment, improve transparency, and strengthen governance

  • Develop, enhance, and deploy the DMSMS framework, playbook, tools, and best practices across RTX business units

  • Standardize and institutionalize processes for identifying, assessing, and resolving DMSMS challenges, ensuring repeatability and consistency across programs

  • Partner with engineering functional leaders to equip teams with the tools, data, and training needed to effectively manage DMSMS risks

  • Integrate DMSMS practices with broader technical readiness and supplier technical health initiatives to ensure a coordinated enterprise posture

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related STEM discipline

  • Minimum twelve (12) years of previous experience with technical and functional leadership in systems, hardware, or multidisciplinary engineering organizations

  • Experience leading teams through complex, ambiguous, and cross functional‑ challenges

  • Experience implementing standardized engineering processes, frameworks, and performance metrics across large organizations

  • Experience communicating, collaborating, and engaging with stakeholders across all levels of leadership

  • Experience driving enterprise level‑initiatives and leading technical coordination across multiple programs and functions

  • Experience supporting both government and commercial sectors

  • Experience with gated lifecycle processes and continuous improvement

  • Willingness to travel up to 35%

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Advanced degree in Business, MBA preferred

  • Experience with DMSMS, obsolescence management, risk analysis, or component reliability engineering

  • Experience with supplier technical readiness, RCCA, or production rate‑ enablement activities

  • Experience standing up governance councils, functional playbooks, or enterprise frameworks

The salary range for this role is 157,200 USD - 298,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
