Position Overview

Pure Insight Counseling Services is actively seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in Yonkers, New York. This full-time position is based in a remote outpatient setting, allowing for a flexible work environment that can adapt to the needs of our diverse clientele. Work Environment

The position is primarily remote, with the flexibility to meet with clients either online or in person at our outpatient office. Working hours are Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with some flexibility to accommodate the varying schedules of our clients. This role supports a dynamic and diverse team dedicated to improving mental health outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments that are sensitive to each patient’s cultural background, identifying their specific needs to develop tailored treatment plans.
• Implement therapeutic interventions that utilize evidence-based practices designed to enhance individual mental health and well-being, considering the unique cultural context of each patient.
• Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions aimed at addressing a spectrum of mental health concerns, fostering resilience, and promoting recovery.
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and a range of mental health professionals to ensure a seamless and coordinated approach to patient care.
• Deliver crisis intervention services when necessary, effectively responding to mental health emergencies with care and professionalism.
• Educate patients and their families on mental health issues, treatment options, and available community resources to empower informed decision-making.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential records in compliance with legal and ethical standards to ensure patient privacy.
• Engage in case conferences, team meetings, and training sessions focused on cultural competency to promote continuous improvement in service delivery.
• Stay abreast of the latest research, methodologies, and best practices within the realm of mental health treatment, infusing this knowledge into therapy sessions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our practice is dedicated to serving individuals from a variety of backgrounds, particularly those who may feel marginalized or underserved in traditional mental health settings. We work carefully with clients from ethnic and cultural minorities, immigrant populations, and LGBTQ+ communities, ensuring that our therapeutic approaches are responsive and relevant to their specific experiences and challenges.

Qualifications

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• A current and valid professional license as either an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.
• A robust understanding of mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities, paired with demonstrated cultural competence in therapeutic practice.
• Experience executing individual and group therapy sessions with an emphasis on culturally responsive techniques.
• Strong crisis intervention capabilities, maintaining composure during high-stress situations.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to form trusting relationships with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and general computer applications to facilitate accurate documentation and reporting.
• A commitment to ethical practice, maintaining professional boundaries while ensuring client confidentiality.
• A proven ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working with clients from multicultural backgrounds and demonstrated ability to adapt therapeutic techniques accordingly.
• Familiarity with community resources, support groups, and other local services to assist patients beyond traditional therapy.
• Training in specific therapeutic modalities or certifications, such as mindfulness-based therapy or trauma-informed care, is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary for this role ranges from USD 70,000 to 100,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
