Job description

The Financial Analyst is a member of the Financial Planning & Analysis ("FP&A") team and serves as a key financial and analytical partner to the Company's Manufacturing organization. This position is responsible for developing reporting, tools, financial models, and analyses that support manufacturing operations, improve visibility into performance, and help drive informed business decisions. The Financial Analyst will support the Manufacturing organization through the monthly close, budgeting and forecasting processes, operational performance reporting, capital expenditure planning, labor and overhead management, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role will work closely with Manufacturing Leadership, Operations, Engineering, Project Management, Accounting, and other cross-functional teams to translate operational data into meaningful financial insights and identify opportunities to improve cost, efficiency, productivity, and overall business performance. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, comfortable working with large and complex data sets, and capable of balancing detailed analysis with a practical understanding of manufacturing operations.
Competitive Compensation Range: $95,000 annually, depending on experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and analytical tools to support Manufacturing operations, including financial statement forecasts, cash flow, labor planning, overhead management, capital expenditures, production performance, and other operational initiatives.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Leadership and operational teams to develop meaningful financial and operational reporting that provides visibility into plant, product, project, and overall Manufacturing performance.
  • Own and continuously improve Manufacturing KPI reporting and dashboards, providing weekly and monthly visibility into key performance metrics such as labor efficiency, production output, utilization, safety, quality, productivity, cost performance, and other operational measures.
  • Analyze labor costs, labor hours, productivity, staffing levels, and workforce trends to identify performance drivers and support headcount planning, labor forecasting, and operational decision-making.
  • Support the annual budget and recurring forecast processes for Manufacturing, including revenue and volume assumptions, labor, overhead, capital expenditures, operational costs, and other key financial drivers.
  • Assist with the monthly financial close process by preparing reports, performing variance analyses, identifying significant trends, and developing tools and processes that improve the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and operational reports for Manufacturing Leadership and senior management, including commentary on key drivers, risks, opportunities, and performance trends.
  • Analyze Manufacturing overhead and operating expenses to support cost management, forecasting accuracy, and accountability across departments and facilities.
  • Support capital expenditure planning and analysis, including business case development, financial modeling, return-on-investment analysis, project tracking, and post-investment performance reviews.
  • Serve as a trusted financial business partner to Manufacturing Leadership, Operations, Engineering, and Project Management teams by helping stakeholders understand current performance, cost drivers, and expected future results.
  • Perform detailed analyses of manufacturing and project performance to identify trends, inefficiencies, cost overruns, and opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Support long-range planning, strategic initiatives, continuous improvement efforts, and special projects by developing financial models, scenario analyses, and decision-support tools.
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Job Cost Accounting, Operations, and other functional teams to improve the accuracy, consistency, and usefulness of financial and operational data.
  • Develop and maintain standardized reporting, processes, and documentation to improve data integrity, reporting consistency, and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial and operational information to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with established reporting standards.
  • Support leadership by preparing presentations, analyses, and other materials for monthly business reviews, operational reviews, strategic initiatives, post-mortem evaluations, and special projects.
  • Maintain and improve project and operational reporting within the Company's ERP and reporting systems
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel, Power BI, SQL, Power Automate, and other analytical tools to automate reporting, improve data visibility, and develop efficient workflows for Manufacturing and operational teams.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality when working with proprietary, financial, employee, and other confidential information.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and special projects as requested.

  • Intermediate understanding of finance and accounting principles, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, cost analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Understanding of manufacturing operations, production environments, labor productivity, standard costs, inventory, or operational cost management is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, complex formulas, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Working knowledge of Power BI and SQL, or a strong willingness and ability to develop proficiency.
  • Experience with ERP systems and operational reporting tools preferred.

Work Environment
  • Work will primarily be performed in a general office environment.
  • The position will require regular interaction with Manufacturing and operational teams and periodic time in manufacturing facilities and construction job site environments.
  • Manufacturing and job site environments may include exposure to noise, electricity, chemicals, heavy equipment, automated and manual machinery, dust, and other operational hazards.
  • Periodic exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wet, and humid environments, may be required.

Physical Demands
  • Frequent: Sitting, standing, walking, utilizing computers and phones.
  • Periodic: Repetitive foot, leg, hand, arm, shoulder, and torso movements.
  • Occasional: Bending, squatting, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting.

Experience and Education:
  • Minimum of three years of experience as a Financial Analyst or in a similar analytical role with experience in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial or operational reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field required.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, construction, engineering, or other operationally intensive business is strongly preferred.
  • Experience analyzing manufacturing costs, labor productivity, overhead, inventory, standard costs, production performance, or operational KPIs is preferred.
  • Experience with capital expenditure planning, financial analysis, or return-on-investment analysis is a plus.
  • Experience with job costing or project-based accounting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of SQL, Power BI, Power Automate, Vista by Viewpoint, or similar ERP and business intelligence systems is preferred.
  • CPA, CFA, MBA, or other relevant professional certification is a plus.
