Position Overview

The Progressive Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Mental Health Therapist (LMFT, LPC, LCSW) for our outpatient psychiatric office in Macon, Georgia. This full-time role offers a unique opportunity for mental health professionals to engage meaningfully with clients, providing critical therapeutic interventions and support in a flexible, remote setting. Work Environment

This position allows for a full-time remote work setup complemented by occasional visits to our outpatient office in Macon as needed. The standard work hours are from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility required based on patient needs. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to discern patient needs and establish effective, personalized treatment plans.
  • Deliver a variety of evidence-based therapeutic interventions to individuals, couples, and families, utilizing modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused strategies.
  • Facilitate therapeutic psychoeducational and support groups centered on common mental health issues, fostering a sense of community among participants.
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and additional team members to ensure coordinated care, sharing insights to enhance patient treatment.
  • Provide crisis intervention services, offering immediate support and guidance during mental health emergencies.
  • Educate patients about their mental health conditions, treatment options, and community resources available for support.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential documentation in compliance with both legal and ethical standards.
  • Engage actively in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development initiatives.
  • Stay informed on the latest advancements in mental health therapy, continually enhancing your professional skills and knowledge base.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our therapists work with a diverse population, addressing mental health issues across age groups and backgrounds. You will have the opportunity to support a variety of clients, from young adults struggling with anxiety to families navigating complex emotional challenges. This role allows for the application of targeted therapeutic approaches tailored to the unique experiences and needs of each patient, emphasizing our commitment to personalized care.

Qualifications
  • Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • A valid state license as a therapist (LMFT, LPC, or LCSW) is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct detailed mental health assessments and develop viable treatment plans.
  • Experience in delivering individual and group therapy sessions to varied populations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, allowing for effective client engagement and collaboration with team members.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of two years of practical experience in mental health counseling is highly desirable.
  • Experience working in an outpatient setting, delivering both individual and group therapies.
  • Familiarity with community resources and support services to assist patients effectively.
Compensation and Benefits
