Job description

Poly-America, L.P. is seeking a Technical Laboratory Supervisor to organize workflows, develop employees and establish quality control guidelines.  Poly-America produces several lines of polyethylene products including high quality trash bags and construction films.  


  • Responsible for the operation, administration, technical supervision and management of the laboratory.
  • Conduct quality tests, organize and implement corporate quality systems, and develop and write procedures related to these systems.
  • Ensure accurate evaluation, interpretation, and verification of analyses performed in the laboratory.
  • Responsible for reviewing, editing, and revising existing procedures and documents.
  • Maintaining and repairing laboratory equipment; including FTIR, GC, TGA, and DSC.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Plastic Engineering preferred.    
  • Laboratory/Quality Assurance experience of 2 years working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have experience maintaining and repairing the following laboratory equipment; FTIR, GC, TGA, and DSC.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to teach, motivate, and lead personnel.
  • Experience with research project management.
  • Skills in statistics and procedure implementation preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivots, vlookups) is preferred.
