Position Overview

Polara Behavioral Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our team in a fully remote capacity. This full-time position allows you to provide high-quality mental health services to clients while working from the comfort of your home. As an LPC, you will play a pivotal role in empowering individuals to achieve their wellness goals through professional counseling. Our competitive salary range is USD 90,000 – 100,000 annually, reflecting our commitment to recognize your expertise and contributions.

About the Organization

Polara Behavioral Health is a community health clinic based in Chesapeake, Virginia, specializing in providing comprehensive behavioral health services to diverse populations. We pride ourselves on our person-centered approach and strive to create a supportive and healing environment for both our clients and our staff. Our mission is to enhance the mental health and well-being of our community through accessible, compassionate care.

Work Environment

This remote role enables you to have flexibility in your work hours while contributing meaningfully to client wellness. Polara Behavioral Health utilizes advanced technology to facilitate seamless telehealth sessions, ensuring that all client interactions are conducted within a secure, HIPAA-compliant framework. Our cloud-based Electronic Health Record (EHR) system streamlines documentation and allows you to focus on client care rather than administrative burdens.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized counseling sessions, which may include conducting intake assessments, developing treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions tailored to each client’s needs.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions aimed at building rapport among clients and promoting community support.
  • Utilize our cloud-based EHR system to accurately document session notes and ensure compliance with insurance companies, including Medicaid and Medicare.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists and case managers, to develop comprehensive treatment strategies for clients.
  • Regularly assess client progress and adjust therapeutic approaches as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Remain up-to-date on best practices and treatment modalities in the field of mental health counseling.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role as an LPC at Polara Behavioral Health will involve working with a diverse array of clients, including those experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and dual diagnoses. This diversity enriches the therapeutic experience and presents unique challenges and rewards, as you help clients navigate their mental health journeys. The remote setting allows for flexibility in serving clients from various backgrounds and locations, breaking down barriers to access.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Active and unrestricted licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Virginia.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in mental health counseling.
  • Proficient in using technology, with a reliable laptop/desktop, internet connection, and web camera for telehealth appointments.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, allowing you to work independently and manage a flexible schedule effectively.
  • Ability to maintain client confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
Preferred Experience

Experience working within a community health setting and familiarity with various therapeutic methods will be considered an asset. Knowledge of evidence-based practices for treating trauma and dual diagnosis is highly regarded. Additionally, skills in providing telehealth services are preferable to ensure a smooth transition into our remote workflow.

Compensation and Benefits

In addition to a competitive salary ranging from USD 90,000 to 100,000 per year, Polara Behavioral Health offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • 401(k) matching to support your long-term financial goals.
  • Health, dental, and life insurance options.
  • Health savings accounts (HSAs) to maximize your healthcare budget.
  • Paid time off, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.
  • Professional development assistance, including access to training and resources to further your career growth.

Polara Behavioral Health is committed to the continuous professional development of its staff. As an LPC, you will have opportunities to pursue further certifications, attend workshops, and engage in training programs designed to enhance your skills and career trajectory within the mental health field.
