Job description
OBJECTIVE:
Complete specific maintenance and projects as directed. Coordination of maintenance projects as needed. Timely and quality work and respect to the facilities while working.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (other duties as assigned)
- Advise on concerns with equipment operation, maintenance, and programming
- Disassembles/Reassembles machines to examine parts, such as wires, gears, or bearings for wear or defects, using hand or power tools and measuring devices
- Aligns, adjusts, or calibrates equipment according to specifications and understanding of basic electrical work
- Inspects, diagnoses, repairs, and maintains automated and manual industry machinery and parts
- Submits reports to PRM Director and communicates with manufactures in resolving repair issues
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist with maintenance projects at sow farms as needed
- Complete projects as assigned by PRM Director
- Weekly travel as needed
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
Education:
B.S. degree with an agricultural or constructions management focus preferred
Will consider equivalent experience/training in these fields in leu of or in combination with education
Experience:
3-4 years of construction/maintenance experience or post-secondary education
Work Environment:
Agricultural swine environment in rural areas
Noise levels that require hearing protection in some areas
Subject to adverse weather conditions
Location: Missouri/Iowa/Illinois
Physical Requirements:
Standing, walking and ability to be on feet 8 to 10 hours per day
Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, and kneeling
Frequent use of one or both hands/arms to grasp or pull
Frequent lifting of objects weighing 3-20 pounds
Occasional bending while pulling and/or lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds, or requiring up to 50 pounds of force to move
Occasional bending while pulling and/or lifting objects weighing up to 100 pounds or requiring up to 100 pounds of force to move with the assistance of another person as needed
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Ability to attend and participate in meetings of various lengths
Additional Requirements:
Ability to work individually and as a team
Must qualify to drive a company vehicle per insurance company requirements based on driving record
Occasional overnight travel
