Job description

PACT (Pearson Accelerator Construction Team) is a General Partnership of Alberici, Amico, Kenaidan, and Obayashi, supported by design partners Egis, Mott MacDonald, and Weston Williamson + Partners. Together, we are delivering Accelerator, a major program of Pearson LIFT (Long-term Investment in Facilities and Terminals), Toronto Pearson's infrastructure development plan. This multi-year program is designed to address immediate passenger growth demands while preparing Canada’s largest airport for the future of air travel—including critical upgrades to airfield and infrastructure, greenhouse gas reduction initiatives, modernization of Terminals 1 and 3, and the creation of a world-class passenger experience.

JOB SUMMARY

The Electrical Project Coordinator will support the planning, execution, and monitoring of work within the Airfield Electrical and Civil sub-program at Toronto Pearson Airport. This includes airside and groundside works on various projects within the sub-program, including reconfiguring the airfield lighting (AFL) system across the entire airfield and delivering a new Airfield Lighting Control Monitoring System (ALCMS).

This role will support delivery in a complex, live airport environment where construction

activities must be carefully coordinated with ongoing operations.  This role is responsible for project administration, construction documentation, site coordination support, schedule and cost tracking, and ensuring alignment with PACT delivery strategies and program reporting requirements.

The Electrical Project Coordinator plays a key role in supporting fast-paced, phased delivery, where design and construction may progress in parallel and early works packages are advanced to protect schedule and minimize operational disruption. This role is critical to keeping projects on schedule, within scope, and aligned with PACT’s mission and operational standards throughout the design and construction phases.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support Project Manager(s) in planning and executing construction activities across multiple projects within AEC.
  • Prepare project schedules, update progress trackers, and maintain documentation repositories.
  • Coordinate site access, permits, inspections, safety documents, and contractor onboarding.
  • Assist in organizing project kickoffs, design reviews, site and office meetings, and stakeholder briefings.
  • Note, minute, action, follow-up, and close meeting actions and meeting minutes as required.
  • Maintain logs for RFIs, change orders, submittals, drawings, and site instructions.
  • Review contractor submissions for completeness and route for approval.
  • Track construction progress, deficiencies, commissioning activities, and close‑out documentation.
  • Support procurement activities including preparing scopes of work, take-offs, RFQs, and contract documentation.
  • Assist in monitoring project budgets, cost forecasts, and invoice tracking.
  • Prepare monthly progress reports, impact summaries, dashboards, and KPI updates.
  • Liaise with contractors, consultants, engineering teams, facility operations, and internal stakeholders.
  • Attend site visits with project managers; document site observations and action items.
  • Coordinate work schedules to minimize operational disruption and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Support adherence to safety standards, regulatory requirements, and construction best practices.
  • Ensure project documentation complies with corporate, regulatory, and PACT reporting standards.
  • Participate in risk assessments, quality checks, and commissioning activities as needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The position will be based at our office in Mississauga, Ontario, with visits to the Airport site as required. Your work schedule will be Monday to Friday during regular office or site hours. At times, operational needs may require work outside these hours, with reasonable notice provided. All schedule or on call adjustments will comply with applicable employment standards legislation. It is mandatory for all employees to complete a Criminal Background check and successfully attain a Restricted Access Identity Card (RAIC) upon joining the company.

DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, COMPETENCIES

  • Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • 1–3+ years of experience in project coordination within a construction environment.
  • Experience with electrical distribution networks for large infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with GTAA or other major airport procedures is considered an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license and eligibility for RAIC clearance required.
