THE ROLE

Chetola Resort is seeking a reliable and experienced Electrician to join our Maintenance & Engineering team. This individual will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across the resort's historic Lodge, condominiums, and facilities. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality and guest satisfaction in every task.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

Electrical & Maintenance Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, and repair electrical systems, wiring, outlets, lighting, circuit breakers, and fixtures throughout resort buildings and common areas
  • Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on electrical issues to ensure timely and safe resolution
  • Maintain and upgrade lighting systems (interior and exterior) for efficiency and functionality 
  • Support new construction, renovation, and remodeling projects with electrical layout and installation
  • Test electrical systems and ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes
  • Work collaboratively with Maintenance Engineers, Housekeeping, and contractors to address electrical needs efficiently
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
  • Monitor and maintain emergency lighting and backup power systems
  • Assist with general maintenance duties as needed during downtime or emergencies

Team & Project Support

  • Partner with the Maintenance Manager to prioritize daily work orders and project timelines 
  • Communicate effectively with department leaders and team members to ensure guest impact is minimized during maintenance work
  • Uphold safety standards and ensure all work areas remain clean, organized, and hazard-free
  • Provide support for resort events and operational projects requiring electrical setup 
  • Offer assistance to other maintenance staff during emergencies or high-demand periods

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience as an Electrician or Electrical Maintenance Technician
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems, wiring methods, and troubleshooting procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and circuit diagrams
  • Understanding of applicable safety regulations and building codes (NEC compliance)
  • Availability to work some weekends and holidays as business needs requires
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in confined or elevated spaces
  • Valid driver's license required
  • North Carolina Electrical License or relevant certification preferred
