Job description

Location - This role is based out of the Organic Valley Trucking Garage in Viroqua, WI. Drivers are home nightly. Overtime and weekend rotation.
Employee Type - Hourly
Bonus Eligibility - This position is eligible for a 3% annual bonus incentive based on cooperative and individual performance.
Safety Sensitive - Yes

- 750 after successfully completing 3 months of employment.

- 750 after 9 months of continuous employment.

To receive each payment, employees must be actively employed and in good standing at time of payment.

Summary of Role 
TheMilk Truck Driver operates heavy (over 26,001 lbs) insulated tank-type straighttruck to support scheduled pick up, transportation, and delivery of bulk milkbetween farms, dairies, and other designated commercial locations.  This is a safety sensitive position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conducts pre and post trip vehicle inspections, accurately completes and submits driver logs, inspection records and other required documents.
  • Grades, samples, and measures the milk in farm bulk milk tanks, collecting samples for laboratory analysis.
  • Performs quality control process steps ensuring satisfactory and sanitary collection, transportation, and unloading of milk.
  • Interacts frequently with farmers, plant and dairy personnel, supervision, and others in a professional and positive manner which reflects favorably upon CROPP Cooperative.
  • Identifies and responds to potential and actual exception conditions, taking action to ensure timely and satisfactory resolution.
  • Follows and complies with applicable Federal and State regulations, CROPP Cooperative policies and best practices including but not limited to safety and biosecurity.
  • Communicates with supervision and/or shipping locations as required to identify and respond to transportation and delivery exception conditions.
  • Performs unloading (intake) function as needed.
  • Must be able to work a variety of schedules and shifts based on business needs including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Using recommended tool and chemicals, follows sanitation procedures in accordance with CROPP's Quality Assurance standard operating procedures washing truck exterior, tank compartment, equipment, and cab.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drives egg & produce truck, shuttle truck, tractor/trailer combination as needed and acts as driver's assistant as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must possess at least a Class B Commercial Driver's License with interstate operating privileges and tank endorsement.
  • Class A Commercial License is preferred.
  • Must possess and maintain current FMCSA Medical Certificate.
  • Must possess and maintain current State of Wisconsin Bulk Milk Weigher and Sampler License.
  • Ability to interpret and understand results of official samples.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and ability to push/pull objects up to 75 pounds.
  • Basic math skills including arithmetic; ability to perform and interpret basic calculations related to count, weight, time, rate, and distance.
  • Critical thinking and decision making skills; able to make effective decisions among primarily known / understood conditions with occasional variables.
  • Effective collaborative skills; must perform comfortably in group settings.
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
  • Verbal and written communication skills; ability to follow instructions and to clearly express ideas in a concise and professional manner.
  • Strong work ethic with history of good attendance.
  • Ability to support schedule changes upon short notice.
  • Ability to work effectively and maintain deadlines.

Base hourly wage range: 23.73 per hour - 28.76 per hour
The typical hourly wage for a new hire is 24.00. This hourly wage rangeis exclusive of fringe benefits. The compensation package may also includeincentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary bonuses. Ifyou are hired at CROPP, your final base hourly wage compensation will be determinedbased on factors such as skills, education, and/orexperience. Additionally, we believe in the importance of pay equity andconsider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any finaloffer. Please keep in mind that entry-level candidates to this role shouldexpect to be at the lower end of the hourly wage range and hiring at the maximum of the hourly wage rangeis not typical.
